F13 3-D Remade?

If there’s one thing that’s missing from movies today, it’s the 3-D factor- why they hell aren’t they making 3-D movies anymore? With today’s digital effects, ginormous screens and kick-ass sound systems, I can’t believe they’re not making more 3-D movies. And yeah, those frickin’ SPY KIDS movies don’t count, yo (although, in 3-D, they were actually kind of fun).

So when this little piece of news popped into my email box, it made me think sweet! And then I thought, wait a minute… Scooper Richard Gould was rockin’ a UK Sci-Fi convention a few weeks back, and chatted it up with actor Richard Brooker, he who played Jason Voorhees in FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 3. Brooker talked about what he thought of the franchise since PART 3 (he doesn’t really like any of them), and then he was asked if he’d be interested in reprising the Jason role, to which he replied: “…they’re doing a remake now, part 3 revisited…” Yeah. What. The. F*ck???

This could be fact, this could be crap, but with the latest news surfacing about the upcoming FRIDAY THE 13TH film this October- news that seemed to just fly outta nowhere, if you ask me, this isn’t all that insane of a thought.

So, could this really happen? FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 3 in 3-D: THE REMAKE??? Yes, it’s crazy! Yes, it’s wild! Yes, it’s hard to believe… and yet, it could just happen. I’ve seen wackier things come out of Hollywood (SON OF MASK anyone?), so I’m not dismissing anything until the news has been officially confirmed or denied.

The thought of watching Jason slice and dice on the big screen in 3-D, with spears flying at the audience and everything… damn, I just get goosebumps thinkin’ about it. Sure, remakes suck, but this… this I can see. Stay tuned as this news is either confirmed, or denied- hey New Line, let us know what’s up!!!
