Fargo’s Rachel Keller cast as the female lead in FX’s X-Men series Legion

Deadline is reporting that Fargo star Rachel Keller has been tapped to play the female lead in FX's Legion, one of the two (with the other being Hellfire) planned television series set in the X-Men universe. It hasn't been announced yet who Keller has been cast as, however her character has been described as "a scrappy, optimistic woman in her 20s," and the site has heard her powers will be "tied to human touch," which has led some to believe she will be playing Rogue.

Fargo creator Noah Hawley wrote the pilot for Legion, and is executive producing with Bryan Singer, Simon Kinberg, Lauren Shuler Donner, and Marvel Television's Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory. The series will introduce "the story of David Haller, based on the Marvel comics character Legion, the son of X-Men founder Charles Xavier."

Diagnosed as schizophrenic, David has been in and out of psychiatric hospitals for years. But after a strange encounter with a fellow patient, he’s confronted with the possibility that the voices he hears and the visions he sees might be real.

While there's still no word on when Legion might premiere on FX, X-MEN: APOCALYPSE is set to be released on May 27, 2016.
