Farm pics and info

There’s some irony here, I know it.

Indie writer/director B. Luciano Barsuglia hit up Fango today with more pics from his latest feature in ZOMBIE FARM (which we touched on here a few weeks back).

Starring folks such as Christine Cowden, Kimberly Fisher, Jed Rowen, Joe Estevez, Javier Morga, Bobby Field, Danielle De Luca and D.T. Carney, the film centres on four college students who find themselves in the midst of an undead attack in the small town of Muerto Verde. The local farmers are being transformed into ghouls thanks to the water supply being poisoned by the Taliban (yes, you read that right), and only the friends and a pair of trigger-happy FBI agents can stop the zombie plague.

Interestingly enough, the film was originally intended as a direct-to-disc title, but the film may wind up getting theatrical play with a May release. Given the mayhem onscreen, the film will most certainly be released unrated if it goes to theatres. “One of our main concerns was always making the blood and gore look good.” says Barsuglia, who originally intended to shoot all the carnage live (more than 50 gallons of fake blood were reportedly used).

But when he and co-producer Vince Lara discovered inexpensive yet effective ways to create digital splatter, they decided to add what will amount to about 60 CGI FX! “Whether it’s live-action or whether it’s digital,” Barsuglia promises, “it will all turn out gross and gory.”
