Is the FAST & FURIOUS franchise trolling us with the way they title their movies? How hard is it to pick one titling device or formula for the films and then stick to it?
Apparently it’s impossible, because, following on the heels of FURIOUS 7, the eighth installment of the popular Universal series is going the other way with its title, according to a revealing Instagram post.
FAST 8… that appears to be what they’re going to be calling this next adventure, which we should have probably seen coming, given the franchise’s propensity for making no sense whatsoever for titles. I’m actually shocked it wasn’t #F/F at this point, but hey… there’s always next time.
No official announcement has been made by Universal at this point, but Vin Diesel’s social media accounts are typically at the forefront of any FURIOUS or FAST developments, so, unless he’s screwing with his followers and fans, I’d be willing to gather this is a legitimate change.
FAST 8 – if that even is its real name – drives into theaters on April 14, 2017.
