Fear the Walking Dead season two hits Baja, Mexico to kick off production

Fear the Walking Dead isn't wasting any time getting the show on the road. Even though the series finale aired just two short months ago, they're already leaping into production on the second season. The new season, which will feature "quite a bit of action on the seas" according to showrunner Dave Erickson, is currently being shot in Baja, Mexico at Baja Studios.

The filming tanks at Baja Studios have been used over the years by films as prominent as TITANIC, TOMORROW NEVER DIES, and even DEEP BLUE SEA. Once they wrap production in Baja, there will continue to be land-based production on this season, which will feature a "more accelerated pace" and "at least one character from [the web series] Flight 462." They haven't caught up with the timeline of The Walking Dead, so there's still plenty to explore in this expanded season.

Living in the same universe as “The Walking Dead”, “Fear the Walking Dead” is a gritty drama that explores the onset of the undead apocalypse through the lens of a fractured family. Set in Los Angeles, a city where people come to escape, shield secrets, and bury their pasts, a mysterious outbreak threatens to disrupt what little stability high school guidance counselor Madison Clark and English teacher Travis Manawa have managed to assemble.

Fear the Walking Dead season two, starring Cliff Curtis, Kim Dickens, and Colman Domingo, will premiere in 2016 with 15 brand new episodes. In the meantime, you can pick up the season one box set right here!
