I don’t know about the rest of you, but I found FEAST to be a good time. Good characters, paced nicely, some sweet monsters, and beautifully vicious gore. Plus it didn’t take itself too seriously. Not a phenomenal movie, but just enough to enjoy.
As I’m sure most of you out there know, FEAST 2: SLOPPY SECONDS recently hit DVD shelves. Now I haven’t had the chance to check it out yet, but you can bet your ass I will. Word is the movie goes completely over the edge with the ridiculous factor, but that’s what it aims for. But I’m not here to talk about FEAST or FEAST 2. No, today’s topic would be FEAST 3: THE HAPPY FINISH.
Word hit the net today that we can expect to see FEAST 3 sitting comfortably on DVD shelves everywhere come February 17th. Only a few days after Valentine’s Day! Perfect! Now that’s what I call a date movie. We’ve also got a look at the cover art for the DVD, seen above. Nothing fancy. It comes across as the same old thing, but it works.
THE HAPPY FINISH picks up moments after the end of FEAST 2: The survivors are saved by the mysterious prophet, Shot Bus Gus, who seemingly has the ability to control the beasts. He leads them into the sewers as they travel to the big city. Along the way they get help from karate expert Jean-Claude Seagal and learn that the beasts originate from a place called “The Hive.” Armed with this knowledge, they decide to fight back and destroy the beasts once and for all.
Jean-Claude Seagal might be one of the greatest things I’ve ever heard. Other than that, I’m kind of skeptical about this end to the trilogy. I just don’t really like the idea of the survivors bringing the battle to the monsters and going after their home base. That scenario just never really satisfies me. We’ll see I suppose.
FEAST 3 comes from director John Gulager with the script from Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan. That happens to be the same trio that brought us the first two films. It stars Jenny Wade, Martin Klebba, Craig Henningsen, Megan Brown, Hanna Putnam, Melissa Reed, Mysti Nash, Juan Longoria García, and Kip Cummings. Get ready for THE HAPPY FINISH on February 17th!
