Ferrell & McAdams ascend to musical glory in the full trailer for Eurovision

Góðan daginn, everybody! If you're of the mind that a new Will Ferrell comedy will help dance away some of your pandemic blues, Netflix has got a film for you. Behold the streamer's EUROVISION SONG CONTEST: THE STORY OF FIRE SAGA. Starring Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams, this off-the-wall comedy centers around two aspiring musicians – Lars and Sigrit – who are given the opportunity of a lifetime to represent their country at the world’s biggest song competition, Eurovision. At long last, they have a chance to prove that any dream worth having is a dream worth fighting for.

Eurovision finds Ferrell and McAdams reteaming with David Dobkin, who directed the duo in the filmmaker's 2005 comedy WEDDING CRASHERS (Buy Here). Ferrell co-wrote Eurovision with Andrew Steele, in addition to producing with Jessica Elbaum and Chris Henchy. The upcoming comedy also finds Steele serving  as an executive producer, alongside Adam McKay and Daniel M. Stillman.

Eurovision also marks Ferrell's return to over-the-top comedy after starring alongside John C. Reilly for Etan Cohen's HOLMES & WATSON (Buy Here), a film that currently holds a 10% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. While HOLMES & WATSON failed to engage fans of Ferrell's signature style of comedy, Netflix is hoping that subscribers will light up as they watch the SNL alum prancing about as the simple-minded but hopeful Lars for Eurovision. The film also finds McAdams returning to the Hollywood scene after starring in GAME NIGHT (Buy Here) for directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein.

When it comes to the music of EUROVISION SONG CONTEST: THE STORY OF FIRE SAGA, Ferrell will sing his own parts while McAdams' vocals will be dubbed by Swedish pop singer Molly Sandén. Joining Ferrell and McAdams for this flashy comedy are stars Dan Stevens, Demi Lovato, and Pierce Brosnan.

Is it just me or does the trailer for EUROVISION SONG CONTEST: THE STORY OF FIRE SAGA all but give you the entirety of the film? Granted I haven't seen the movie just yet, but yeah, there appear to be a number of significant story beats on display thanks to the new trailer. Oh well. I mean, buy the ticket, take the ride, right?

EUROVISION SONG CONTEST: THE STORY OF FIRE SAGA will sing and dance its way onto Netflix beginning on June 26.
