It seems Peter Jackson’s THE LOVELY BONES is a film we’ve been catching all kinds of press and promo material for in the last couple of weeks. We’ve seen trailers, behind-the-scenes footage, exclusive clips, production stills, you name it. So I guess it comes as no real surprise that we have a few more pictures from the film to share with y’all.
Set for a January 15, 2010 – Jackson’s film, based on the Alice Sebold best-seller, is a touching story about the aftermath of a 14 year old girl’s rape and murder. As she watches (and narrates) from heaven, she weighs her desires to wage revenge up against her ability to help her family get over their loss.
Jackson puts the material in the hands of very talented actors, including Rachel Weisz, Stanley Tucci, Susan Sarandon, Mark Wahlberg, Michael Imperioli, Saoirse Ronin and Thomas McCarthy.
Although the flick has been subject to rather tepid reviews, Jackson no doubt looks to get back to the harrowing, more intimate work we saw out of him back in ‘94 with his film HEAVENLY CREATURES.
Guess we’ll see how it goes.
