Fifty Shades of Grey gets an R-rating due to ‘unusual behavior’

Never suggest that the MPAA doesn’t have a sense of humor. Case and point, one of their latest ratings for next months the big screen adaptation of E.L. James’ bestseller FIFTY SHADES OF GREY. While fans and unlucky boyfriends going to see the movie were hoping for an R-rating, the reason for the decision is rather amusing and confusing. The under 17 demographic will now have to go see this with an adult; I keep telling anyone who will listen, only bad can come from TWILIGHT fan fiction.

Here's the rating description:

Strong sexual content including dialogue, some unusual behavior and graphic nudity, and for language.

I love the ratings board; they can give THE EXPENDABLES 3, a movie about people blowing up other people a PG-13 stamp of approval, but attractive idiots having sex, NO.  I can just imagine an old codger watching this movie, pad and pen working away. When all is said and done, he lowers his monocle, takes a deep breath and says "my what unusual behavior" to his cat. The funny thing is we have a good idea what the MPAA is referring to; they just don’t have the right words for it. Will the rating hurt the movies success? I doubt it. The movie, which is being dubbed “mommy porn”, will have people of all ages lined up around the block; as we speak, mom and daughter date nights are being planned for its release. Run.

FIFTY SHADES OF GREY opens in theaters on February 13, 2015 and stars Jamie Dornan, Dakota Johnson, Jennifer Ehle, Luke Grimes, Victor Rasuk, Eloise Mumford, Max Martini, Rita Ora, Marcia Gay Harden, and Callum Keith Rennie.

Oh hi, Dakota Johnson.
