Filming has begun on War for the Planet of the Apes

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

In addition to clarifying that the title of the next PLANT OF THE APES film is WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES and not, as previously believed, "War of the Planet of the Apes", director Matt Reeves has also marked the start of production on the film by tweeting out a behind-the-scenes picture, which can be seen below. As many have pointed out, the picture is quite reminiscent of the final scenes in the original, 1968 PLANET OF THE APES.

The third installment in the franchise reboot that began with RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES in 2011 and continued with last year's DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES, WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES is set for release on July 14, 2017.

Child actress Amiah Miller recently joined the cast, which includes Andy Serkis, Woody Harrelson, Steve Zahn, and Gabriel Chavarria.

I grew up watching the PLANET OF THE APES movies, and as far as I'm concerned there can never be too many entries in the series, even if there have been some subpar ones here and there. I'm looking forward to seeing how the RISE and DAWN storyline will continue, so bring on the WAR!
