Final Destination writer is directing revenge thriller Good Samaritan

Five years ago, FINAL DESTINATION screenwriter Jeffrey Reddick wrote and directed a 12 minute short film called GOOD SAMARITAN, about the aftermath of a fatal assault that was witnessed by multiple bystanders who didn't intervene. Now Reddick is expanding that concept into a feature with the same title.

Kourtney Bell, Skyler Hart, Will Stout, Han Soto, Jaqueline Fleming, Damon Lipari, Amanda Grace Benitez, Stephen Twardokus, Dean West, and Jeremy Holm – who played the title character in THE RANGER – star in the feature version of GOOD SAMARITAN, which is described as a "thrilling, relevant" revenge thriller.

Bell's character is

a young woman among several witnesses that see a man fatally assaulted in a park and do nothing to intervene. Soon they all find themselves targeted by someone, or something, out for revenge.

If these witnesses are being knocked off one-by-one, this basically sounds like a twist on FINAL DESTINATION, maybe without the supernatural element. Start off with a bunch of characters gathered together for a deadly event, then kill off the survivors throughout the rest of the movie.

Reddick had this to say about the project:

I’m so excited to bring Good Samaritan to life with such an amazing group of producers, cast and crew. I get extremely troubled by real-life stories that show people’s lack of caring and compassion for one another. So, I wanted to explore this theme in the confines of a genre film. I’ve been waiting for the right project to make and I feel really blessed and excited to show it to the world."

GOOD SAMARITAN is being produced by Hood River Entertainment, in association with Title Media, Storyteller Media, and Setlife Films. Andrew van den Houten, Andy Steinman, Roman Dent, and Ashleigh Snead are the producers, with Reddick, Gagan Lakhmna, Darryl Gariglio, Soto, Giles Daoust, and Catherine Dumonceaux serving as executive producers.
