According to Variety, Paramount Pictures is putting together another HEAVY METAL animated anthology (there was a sequel in 2000, cleverly titled HEAVY METAL 2000), featuring eight or nine individual segments (each directed by different directors) that intertwine with each other.
Based on the sci-fi magazine of the same name, the new HEAVY METAL is having some serious talent attached to it, including the great David Fincher (who recently gave us ZODIAC) and Kevin Eastman (who co-created TMNT). Seriously, David f*cking Fincher!
Besides Fincher being on board (oh the possibilities), the other rockin’ news out of this is, much like it’s two predecessors, the new HEAVY METAL is aiming to be an R rated, adult themed animated trip. No PG-13ing it here!
With Fincher on board, and the whole concept of the HEAVY METAL series, I do believe this movie is gonna kick all sorts of ass. Stick around for more updates as we hear em’!
