First Ant-Man and The Wasp reactions hail it as one of Marvel’s best sequels

The first ANT-MAN was a delightful surprise that took one of Marvel’s harder to sell characters (“Seriously, he’s named ‘Ant-Man?’”) and delivered a hilarious, small-scale adventure that proved Paul Rudd was born to be a superhero. The sequel is fast approaching, and this time Rudd’s Scott Lang will be joined by Hope Van Dyne a.k.a The Wasp (Evangeline Lilly) in what is surely an even larger-scale adventure. But does more prove to be a good thing here? According the early reactions the answer is a resounding, jumping-out-of-your-seat “YES!”

The first reactions from the premiere last night indicate that the sequel is funnier, more thrilling and sweeter than the original featuring an on-point ensemble, with Lilly stealing the show. Many reactions call to mind reactions out of THOR: RAGNAROK, especially for its contained story and constant abundance of thrills and laughs. Some are going as far as to says it’s Marvel’s funniest movie yet. In short (heh), this sounds like one sequel that easily tops the original. Oh, and word around the block is the movie has two end-credit scenes that you absolutley should not miss, lest ye be mocked.

ANT-MAN AND THE WASP with Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Michael Pena, Laurence Fishburne and more arrives July 6.
