Remember back in May we ran a little item on BIOSHOCK? You know, the spiritual successor to one of the most criminally underrated games ever in SYSTEM SHOCK? Well, IGN snagged a exclusive clip from the game, complete with commentary by Irrational Games’ Creative Director Ken Levine.
Now, the stills from the game are one thing, but seeing the game in action is a whole different can of worms. It looks AWESOME, particularly the water effects. Water leaking from Rapture’s hull looks amazing as it pours down and collects on the floor, how it falls on the enemies as they lumber around, and really showcases the XBOX 360’s power. The whole run-down, 1940’s era look to everything is both creepy and beautiful at the same time, sort of like what SYSTEM SHOCK 2 was like with its deserted spacecraft feel.
The bummer part of the video was the fact that it was only 15 minutes long. Dammit, I want more! I can’t wait for next Spring, I want to play this sucker now! I guess we’ll have to wait for more info as it comes, but damn it if this game doesn’t look to be revolutionary. Click here to see for yourself.
