First Birds of Prey TV Spot showcases Gotham’s team of femme fatales

When the first official trailer for Warner Bros. BIRDS OF PREY (AND THE FANTABULOUS EMANCIPATION OF ONE HARLEY QUINN) flew the coop a few weeks ago, some fans were taken aback by how much the footage focused on Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn, rather than the remaining members of her all-female team. While it's understandable that WB would want to place the film's most recognizable character in the spotlight, those who were eager to see the other birds in action were left wanting. Thankfully, a new TV spot for the film has arrived that introduces us to Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell), Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), and Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez), albeit briefly.

In addition to showing off some of the ladies' fancy footwork, lust for life, and adept methods of kicking ass, the TV spot also packs plenty of energy that suggests the film will be an all-out romp. The footage also teases a number of other interesting elements, such as Harley's connection with her pet hyena, a high-octane car chase, and a sense of unity between the women that would make Beyoncé beam with pride.

The new TV spot had been posted by Twitter user pinkyopink. You can check it out for yourself below:

Directed by Cathy Yan and written by Christina Hodson, the movie follows the team as they come together for the first time to take on the nefarious Roman Sionis a.k.a. Black Mask (Ewan McGregor). Starring alongside the primary members of the Birds of Prey team are Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain and Chris Messina as the villainous Victor Zsasz. The movie has yet to receive an official plot synopsis, though reports suggest that BIRDS OF PREY will see Harley establishing a new reputation for herself, as she's grown sick and tired of being hailed as the Joker's Queenpin of Crime.

BIRDS OF PREY will fly into theaters on February 7, 2020.
