General interest in LEATHERFACE 3D has increased now that a director is attached. Our friends over at BD obtained the first plot details for the film from an inside source. Take the following information with a grain of salt for now, but everything sounds legitimate so far.
First, it should be noted that this is a direct sequel to Tobe Hooper’s original THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and not Platinum Dunes’ remake of the same name. As for the plot? The film follows Heather, who along with her friends, travels to Texas in order to collect an inheritance. The spin? What would you do if you found out your cousin was Leatherface, and he was now yours?
Whomever lands the role of Heather will be locked in for multiple potential sequels. I guess we know what happens to all of her friends. Other roles that will sign on for more pictures include Sheriff Hooper and his trust sidekicks, Fransworth and Deputy Carl Hartman.
Casting is currently underway for a June start of production in Shreveport, Louisiana. John Luessenhop (TAKERS) is attached to direct. Debra Sullivan, Adam Marcus and Stephen Susco wrote the script, with recent drafts touched up by Kirsten Elms and Luessenhop.
