First look at Brandon Routh’s Crisis-style Superman swoops in!

Our first look at Brandon Routh as Superman for the CW's upcoming "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossover event has arrived! Inspired by the Man of Steel's look in the classic DC superhero story Kingdom Come by creators Mark Waid and Alex Ross, Routh's Supes even has a bit of salt on the sides of his pepper-colored do. It's quite the different look from Routh's turn as the Big Blue Boy Scout for Bryan Singer's 2006 film, SUPERMAN RETURNS, though it's entirely possible that his character will undergo a costume change during the five-episode saga.

You can check out Routh in all of his Superman glory below:

As production for the CW's "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossover ramps up, more and more peeks at the event's special guest stars are beginning to pop up. Yesterday, SMALLVILLE actress Erica Durance (Lois Lane) posted a photo of her and Tom Welling (Clark Kent) posing in front of a massive farmhouse that some suspect is located on the Kent family farm. Then, later that same afternoon, it was announced that Ashley Scott will reprise her role as Huntress from 2002's BIRDS OF PREY TV series for the "Crisis on Infinite Earths" event.

The CW's "Crisis on Infinite Earths" will carry across ARROW, THE FLASH, SUPERGIRL, DC'S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW and BATWOMAN. The 5-episode superhero spectacle kicks off with SUPERGIRL on Sunday, December 8th, which is set to be followed by BATWOMAN on Monday, December 9th. THE FLASH will follow on Tuesday, December 10th, and then the event will go on a bit of a holiday hiatus. Fear not though, my friends, the adventure will resume with ARROW on Tuesday January 14th at 8 p.m. and conclude with LEGENDS OF TOMORROW at 9 p.m.

Be sure to mark your calendars accordingly and steel yourselves for one of the biggest superhero television events this side of Krypton!
