Okay, everyone, please gather ’round a table and hold hands. We are attempting to make contact with an old genre plot device that is looking to reemerge in films of today… Close your eyes… Concentrate as I call upon the act known as a SÉANCE…
Please excuse my cheesy opening. I merely wanted to get into the spirit of the new foreign indie I’m about to inform you of. As you may have already guessed, the flick is called SÉANCE and the Czech production has just finished shooting on location at a 16th century palace. The plot for the film goes a little something like this: three people are trying to find the fortune of a deceased baroness through a spiritualistic séance. But things soon go a bit differently, than they planned…
Sure, that ain’t a whole lot to go on, but I’m pretty sure we can all basically imagine what happens next. And the first images from the flick up top and below look fairly spooky, I guess.
SÉANCE was directed by Robin Kasparik and the cast is composed solely of Czech actors: Klara Jandova, Zdenek Julina and Pavel Novy. There is no U.S. release date yet, however the flick is looking to enter numerous American horror film festivals.
