Big Clint’s stepping into the ethereal plane with HEREAFTER, a supernatural thriller with Matt Damon and Cecile De France he’s currently putting the final touches on. The flick hits October 22nd of this year, so I guess it’s no real shocker the first official still from the joint has been developed. What is a shocker is how thoroughly stolid and uninteresting the initial look is…for a Clint flick anyway.
Written by Peter Morgan (THE QUEEN, THE LAST KING OF SCOTLAND), HEREAFTER is a supernatural thriller centered on three people — a blue-collar American, a French journalist and a London school boy — who are touched by death in different ways.
Jay Mohr, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jenifer Lewis, Richard Kind, Lyndsey Marshal, Mylene Jampanoi, Martha Keller and Jack Bence also star.
Even though the first look is pretty uninspired, I have more than enough faith to think Clint and Morgan will come up with some worthwhile. Clint’s on top of his directorial game right now, at 80 no less…dude’s made one solid picture after another for the last 7 or 8 years. I’m fully on board with this sucker, even if PG-13, which, let’s face it, is all but likely.
Go to the HEREAFTER October 22nd.
