First trailer for Let Me In hints at great things

I had a sneaking suspicion that Overture Films would get the trailer for LET ME IN, Matt Reeves’ remake of LET THE RIGHT ONE IN, before THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE. I don’t know for sure that we’ll see one here in the United States but an international teaser for the film has popped up online.

My first impression is that the film actually looks really good. That’s not to say I think it’s a great trailer. Whatever music they’ve used in the background is repellent. And the editing is way too fast, even for a teaser trailer. But that said, Kodi Smit-McPhee looks pitch-perfect as Oskar stand-in, Owen. The film is beautifully shot and they’ve conveyed that with some of the footage here. I also love the morse code bit at the end. Despite our initial trepidation to this film, I think we’re going to have a wholly original remake if that makes any sense.

Check out the trailer below and hopefully we’ll be seeing even more from LET ME IN at Comic-Con…
