First trailer for the Coen Brother’s Inside Llewyn Davis starring Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan arrives

As is usually the case with the Coen Brothers, their latest pic, INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS, looks to be like a solid, character-filled oddity of cool.  At least that’s what I got from the new trailer for the film.  Starring Oscar Isaac as the titular character, the film is reportedly based on Dave Van Ronk’s posthumously published memoir “The Mayor of MacDougal Street,” and tells the story of a struggling folk singer (Isaac) as he navigates his way through the New York music scene in the 1960’s.

The trailer is chock full of Coen-isms, from quirky dialogue, detestable people, mean-spirited dialogue, and at least one punch is thrown.  Ahhhh, back in Coensville.  The film co-stars Carey Mulligan, John Goodman, Garrett Hedlund, Justin Timberlake, Adam Driver, and F. Murray Abraham and looks to have the atmosphere of some of the filmmaking duo’s better films.  I hadn’t heard much until now, but you can color me impressed at this point.

Take a look:

INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS is set to open on February 8, 2013.
