First TV spot for Levan Gabriadze’s Unfriended, starring Shelley Hennig

Back in January we brought you the trailer and poster for Levan Gabriadze’s on-line-set horror feature UNFRIENDED (formerly CYBERNATURAL), and while our own Chris Bumbray had some nice things to say about the film when he saw it at Fantasia last  year (read his review HERE), the trailer didn't really grab me as something I'd wanna peep in theaters. Now the first TV spot for UNFRIENDED has landed and you can check it out below.

The film was picked up by Universal Pictures back in October, who slapped it with an April 17, 2015 release. Our own Chris Bumbray described it as "a clever spin on the found footage genre, and a tight little horror flick that’s good for a solid scare or two", so perhaps we'll all be pleasantly surprised by this one.

The film was produced by Timur Bekmambetov and it goes like this:

While video chatting one night, six high school friends receive a Skype message from a classmate who killed herself exactly one year ago. At first they think it’s a prank, but when the girl starts revealing the friends’ darkest secrets, they realize they are dealing with something from beyong this world, something that wants them dead. Told entirely from a young girl’s computer desktop, UNFRIENDED redefines “found footage” for a new generation of teens.

UNFRIENDED stars Shelley Hennig, Moses Storm, Renee Olstead, Will Peltz, Jacob Wysocki, Courtney Halverson, and Heather Sossaman. Look for it in theaters on April 17.
