Why so gung-ho on re-doing classics instead of coming up with something new and original? I know there’s plenty of good scripts out there belching originality, why ass-rape what’s already been done? As the saying goes, why fix it if it’s not broken? I just happened to watch THE FOG the other night and it scared the pants off of me! Carpenter created a mood and an eeriness within the character of the fog that will be difficult to duplicate- so why even try? Cooper Layne is scheduled to write the remake- which really pisses me off, considering he was also the writer of the illogically entertaining disaster flick THE CORE. (sigh). THE FOG, joining THE AMYTIVILLE HORROR in the latest batch of horror remakes, will start filming this February.
Thanks to Deke Richards for the heads up!
