Looks like Paramount has finally scored a director in the form of Marc Forster. You may recognize Forster’s name, well that’s because he’s the guy bringing us the newest James Bond installment QUANTUM OF SOLACE, which hits theaters today. So how about that? A Bond director tackling a zombie flick. I’m all for it!
WORLD WAR Z is about a researcher for the U.N. Postwar Commission who interviews survivors from countries all over the world, 10 years after the crisis, to gather a first-person post-mortem on a war that obliterated every country on the map. J. Michael Straczynski will be adapting the novel. Brad Pitt’s Plan B shingle is set to produce. Does this mean we might see the Pitt-ster battling zombies? That might be a far out suggestion, but it’s got me all tingly inside. By the way, I just now made up that Pitt-ster thing.
Forster even gave a little insight on what he thinks of the project to Variety. Here’s what he had to say: “The genre always fascinated me, and when they pitched it to me, it reminded me of the paranoid conspiracy films of the ’70s like ‘All the President’s Men.'” Hmm… well when I think of a zombie flick the first thing that comes to mind would be ALL THE PRESIDENT’S MEN, of course! Sarcasm aside I’ve got faith in Forster. So hopefully WORLD WAR Z is finally put on the fast track and things start moving soon. Keep it here for any more updates.
