Fox begins development on Len Wiseman’s Sleepy Hallow

It was way back in July when we last heard any rumblings on the Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci television project SLEEPY HALLOW but now Deadline is reporting that Fox has ordered a pilot to go into production with UNDERWORLD helmer Len Wiseman set to direct.

Described as a modern–day supernatural thriller based on The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow, SLEEPY HALLOW follows Ichabod Crane as he partners with Sleepy Hollow’s local female sheriff to solve the mysteries of a town ravaged by the battle between good and evil.

Kurtzman and Orci will write the script with Phillip Iscove, on whose idea the project is based.

With another SLEEPY HALLOW-based series being developed at competing network CW (see our story on that show HERE), there seems to be some renewed interest in Washington Irving’s classic tale of terror. Hey, sometimes the classics are the best source for modern entertainment. Which series makes it to the finish line first is anyone’s guess, but my money is on Kurtzman and Orci’s take on the material.
