Fox gives put pilot commitment to a new Frankenstein project

You just can't keep a good monster down, apparently. Throughout the years we've seen countless takes on Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein", from films, to comics, to plays and much more. Now Deadline is reporting that "Life" creator Rand Ravich and Homeland and Tyrant executive producer Howard Gordon want to bring a new sci-fi drama based on the tale to television, with Fox giving a put pilot commitment to the sci-fi drama "Frankenstein".

“Frankenstein” will center on Adam Tremble, a morally corrupt FBI agent who is given a second chance at life when he is brought back from the dead. Now younger and stronger, Tremble will have to choose between his old temptations and his new sense of purpose – dealing with threats beyond the FBI’s capabilities – while navigating a complicated relationship with his “creators”: an antisocial Internet billionaire and his bio-engineer twin sister.

20th TV and Gordon’s studio-based Teakwood Lane Prods. produce with the company’s Hugh Fitzpatrick serving as co-executive producer.

This is just the latest in a long list of "Frankenstein"-themed projects to be coming our way as CANDYMAN helmer Bernard Rose also has his take on the classic tale in the can while 20th Century Fox will be bringing us Paul McGuigan's VICTOR FRANKENSTEIN soon enough. Don't forget that Guillermo del Toro has long wanted to make a FRANKENSTEIN pic, as well, and Universal has plans on relaunching their classic movie monsters which will include a new FRANKENSTEIN film. Get ready for "Frankenstein" overload, folks.
