Just the other week we showed you a sneak peak at the trailer for FRANKLYN, a trippy sci-fi / thriller mindf*ck movie starring the super hot Eva Green (check that noise HERE). The level of dark and trippiness has lead me to be believe this may be one of those under-the-radar flicks that we should definitely be keeping an eye on.
The new UK quad hit the internet today, and it expresses what the previous trailer and poster expressed: darkness, a cool looking vigilante / hero, and… a bit of the bizarro. I’m not complaining, though, because the film simply looks too badass for that type of bullshite.
Briefly, FRANKLIN goes like this: Preest is a masked vigilante detective, searching for his nemesis on the streets of Meanwhile City, a monolithic fantasy metropolis ruthlessly governed by faith and religious fervor. Esser is a broken man, searching for his wayward son amongst the rough streets of London’s homeless. Milo is a heartbroken thirty-something desperately trying to find a way back to the purity of first love. Emilia is a beautiful art student; her suicidal art projects are becoming increasingly more complex and deadly.
The weird thing is, if that brief synopsis were any shorter, you wouldn’t have a clue as to what the flick is about. Written and directed by Gerald McMorrow, FRANKLYN stars Green, Ryan Phillippe, Sam Riley, Jay Fuller, Bernard Hill, Art Malik, Kika Markham, and Gary Pillai. No U.S. release date has been set, however it will be hitting the U.K. February 20th. You lucky bastards! Head THIS WAY to check out an even bigger version of the poster…enjoy!
