French animation My Life as a Zucchini gets 9 colorful images and a trailer

Today, GKIDS, the American film distributor that specializes in the release of worldly-wise animated features has unveiled the official English-language trailer for MY LIFE AS A ZUCCHINI. The Golden Globe nominated film features an impressive voice acting cast, which includes the talents of Will Forte, Nick Offerman, Ellen Page, and Amy Sedaris. Furthermore, we’ve also got nine beautiful images to share with you from this peculiar and colorful film.

Produced by RITA Productions, Blue Spirit Productions, Gebeka Films and KNM, MY LIFE AS A ZUCCHINI tells the tale of Zucchini, who after his mother’s sudden death, befriends a police officer by the name of Raymond. Together, the pair travel to a nearby orphanage where Zucchini is forced to grapple with his loss while simultaneously attempting to make a new life for himself. Along the way, Zucchini will make new friends, and discover that having a sense of “family” is not necessarily limited by blood ties.

Presented through the use of stop-motion animation, MY LIFE AS A ZUCCHINI is sure to usher you through a gamut of emotions. The film has already received an overwhelming amount of accolades along the film festival circuit, alongside taking home the top jury and audience prizes at Annecy, Melbourne and Angouleme.

Oh man, I just checked out the trailer and I totally want to watch this movie. GKIDS has a knack for bringing worthwhile animations state-side, and MY LIFE AS A ZUCCHINI looks to me like it could be another winner. I really like the color palette of this film, and from the look of it, this animated feature is sure to pack an emotional punch or two. Bring it on!
