With some 50 directing credits to his name, Rollin is best known for his erotic takes on horror and fantasy, including such titles as REQUIEM FOR A VAMPIRE, THE LIVING DEAD GIRL, and THE NUDE VAMPIRE. He is also credited with making the first French vampire film, 1968’s THE RAPE OF THE VAMPIRE, and the first French gore film, 1978’s THE GRAPES OF DEATH.
In addition to directing, Rollin also dabbled in writing, acting, and producing. He was credited under a number of pseudonyms over the years depending on the quality of work, including a stint in hardcore pornography.
Our condolences to the family, friends, and fans of Rollin. May he rest in peace.
