Friday the 2009th?

Okay, so I have nothing in the way of “You won’t f*ckin believe this!” news; only the update that no, there is no stopping a FRIDAY THE 13th remake/reboot/re-whatever-ing, and yes, Platinum Dunes still has it’s claws on it.

In a Variety article about the state of horror nowadays (it ain’t good), it’s brought up that FRIDAY THE 13th is still on New Line Cinema’s slate, with a projected release date – make that year – of 2009 (a good guess would be Friday, March 13th).

It’s not mentioned whether or not Jonathon Liebesman is still at the helm, but not too long ago he was still being championed as the go-to guy by the folks at Platinum Dunes. Neither is it brought up if Mark Wheaton’s screenplay is still the one they’re working with (his stock may have fallen after THE MESSENGERS came out).

You’d better believe we’ll let you know what’s going down with this flick as soon as news breaks (I’m guessing the performance of HALLOWEEN will have a lot to do with it).

I’m guessing “the Bacon” won’t be returning…
