J.J. Abrams has finally found the latest piece to his new sci-fi pilot FRINGE – an Aussie named Anna Torv (pictured). Since Abrams has a knack for finding young, relatively unknown actresses to successfully topline his dramas (Jennifer Garner, Evangeline Lilly, Keri Russel), there’s no reason to think this new lass won’t continue the magic… That is, unless the show stinks.
Torv will star as Olivia Warren, a young, tough FBI agent who is forced to confront the spread of unexplained phenomena and work with Dr. Walter Bishop (John Noble), an institutionalized scientist whose work might be at the center of a coming storm.
Also in the cast are Blair Brown, Lance Reddick (awesome in THE WIRE), Kirk Acevedo. and Jasika Nicole. the show comes from Abrams and his frequent partners in crime, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (writers of MI:III and the new STAR TREK).
It’ll be hard to top Ms. Lilly…
