Well Fangoria is reporting that FRONTIERE(S) has secured it’s own, seperate release from After Dark. It’ll be released by After Dark sometime in January 2008 and will stick with it’s NC-17 (or unrated) rating. “We’re not gonna touch it.” says After Dark chief Courtney Solomon.
The French film is the work of Xavier Gens, who’s HITMAN (released later this month) also had some rating trouble not too long ago. Now from what I’ve seen, I’m really looking forward to HITMAN, so FRONTIERE(S) will be on my to-see list too. I’m just hoping the NC-17/Unrated rating is for all kinds of stuff and not just HOSTEL-like gore.
FRONTIERE(S) was written and directed by Xavier Gens. It stars Karina Testa (below), Aurélien Wiik, Patrick Ligardes, David Saracino, Maud Forget, Samuel Le Bihan, and Estelle Lefébure. It’s about a group of thieves who take cover in an Inn run by some pretty sadistic neo-Nazis. All kinds of fun ensues. As I mentioned above, the release date for FRONTIERE(S) will be sometime in January 2008.
