Frozen sequels are coming to a book shelf near you

Disney’s hugely successful FROZEN is getting a few follow-ups, but not in theatrical form (just yet). Random House has announced that it will release a series of FROZEN sequel books, with the first two entries set to hit shelves next year. It was just last month when I reported on Disney setting a five-year plan for the box office behemoth; books sound about right then. The “Anna & Elsa” series will be aimed at young readers, obviously.

The first two novels, "Anna & Elsa #1: All Hail the Queen" and "Anna & Elsa #2: Memory and Magic" will follow the sisters as they deepen their bond. Those will be available January 6, 2015 with two more untitled installments coming later that year. Random House actually plans to publish three or four Anna & Elsa tales per year! Erica David, who will be writing the books, has more than her fair share of experience having worked on spinoffs of HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON, THE LEGEND OF KORRA, and MR. PEABODY & SHERMAN.

The highest-grossing animated film in history still doesn’t have an official sequel to announce yet, that’s the incredible part. They will now conquer books, an on ice tour, a Broadway musical, a FROZEN fireworks display coming to Disney parks, and live-action versions of Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff appearing in ABC’s Once Upon a Time (see below). I want a tour of the FROZEN factory!
