It’s always worth taking note when a new company gets into the movie producing business. Now what company am I talking about? Well I think it’s safe to say they’re a veteran of the special effects and makeup business!
The Hollywood Reporter have the good word that Drac Studios are starting production on their first live-action film, DEAD IN THE WATER. The production is happening through Drac Studios’ Drac Studios Lousiana with Drac president Harvey Lowry producing. The film already has a director in Rob Walker with a script from Si Dunn. Lowry had the following to say on the matter:
“With all of the indie and studio films being shot in Louisiana, it was an easy decision to open a facility in the state. Now we can offer other producers the Louisiana tax incentives for our special effects and makeup effects as well as take advantage of them ourselves for our own productions.”
Unfortunately no details were released as to what we can expect from DEAD IN THE WATER. Hell we didn’t even get a genre hint but we can only assume it’ll be right down our alley considering Darc Studios’ previous credits. The multipe Academy Award winning studio is leasing space in Baton Rouge’s Raleigh Studios Celtic Media Center so hopefully we’ll find out what DEAD IN THE WATER is about sooner rather than later.
