Current small screen Flash Kyle Gallner will be the lead terrorized teen in the upcoming Michael Bay-ified (his Platinum Dunes company is producing) NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET remake. In it, he’ll star as the voice behind a high school podcast, “Insomnia Radio”, who’ll fall prey to the nightmare inducing mania of the disfigured Freddy Krueger. As you may recall, current cinematic superhero sociopath Jackie Earle Haley has been cast as Freddy Krueger. The Hollywood Reporter also adds this little footnote: “Gallner’s approximate role in the original 1984 film was played by Johnny Depp.” Oh really? That’s his approximate role? Or this just some way to get Johnny Depp’s name into the story just because it happened to be one of his first films? In any case, Gallner was most recently vomiting ectoplasmic shit in the horror THE HAUNTING IN CONNECTICUT and can next be seen alongside a crazy (but mean hot) Megan Fox in the Diably Cody-fied horror JENNIFER’S BODY.
