I apologize for the lateness of this posting friends, but let us get right down
to it and rock this. This one is about a fellow named Charles Deckard, an art
thief who is suckered into stealing Pandora’s Box. Of course when he opens it,
he lets thousands of mythical beasts out, like gryphons and werewolves and the
lie. And so a war begins between man and beast, and you’re left to pick up the
pieces. Sounds awesome, right? I won’t waste any more time, let’s look at this bad boy.

Gameplay: 3/10

GAMEPLAY:

First of all, isn’t Pandora’s Box a mythical thing? It doesn’t literally
have tons of monsters in it, does it? I didn’t think so either but I guess
we need to suspend our disbelief for this silly monster game. Man, is this
game ever linear. Just when you think you’ll have the opportunity to take a
different path, your shit gets obscured and you get gypped. So you don’t get
a lot of choices. The world has been conquered by beasts, but you’ll spend
most of your time in narrow hallways wondering where the action is. You’ll
see lot of crazy stuff happening, but you don’t interact with half of it.

You move slowly, you can’t jump high and your aim is absolutely twitchy at best.
That is a disaster for anything claiming to be an FPS. And your paths are so
contrived and backwards, it’s silly. And I thought this game was about monsters?
Why is it that after the first level I have to deal with stupid dudes with guns
who are trying to keep a lid on things? As if the monsters aren’t frustrating
enough- you see, you have to kill them in special ways (like blowing off a
head), which gets increasingly old each time you do it.

You can also pick up the enemy’s power, but it doesn’t add anything deep
to the proceedings. The enemies more or less just run and swipe at you until you
kill them while fumbling with the controls and losing huge parts of your life.

There are puzzles too, and they’re actually not complete torture! Nice!
Don’t forget about glitches- dudes disappear, background blends into foreground
and effects seem to blend into each other and fire off at random.

Gameplay: 3/10

GRAPHICS:

Graphics are just terrible here, just not good at all. This game looks like
its 10 years old and does not belong on a current gen system. Enemies are
jagged, civilians are bland and the glitches don’t help either. It’s not all
bad, but the few shining points don’t add enough to rock the score higher.

Graphics: 4.5/10

AUDIO:

Sound isn’t completely terrible, but rather quite pedestrian. Close your
eyes and think of a generic action shooter. Hear those sound effects and
growls and gunshots? Yeah, that’s what this sounds like. Voice acting isn’t
very good either. Sorry.

Audio: 5/10

FINAL VERDICT:

Unfortunately this game isn’t very good. I’ve had some games I’ve been on
the fence for, but this isn’t one of them. It is a really low quality deal
that was a true chore to get through. It’s frustrating, unoriginal, linear,
predictable and nonsensical at times. Stay away, unless it’s 5 bucks.

Final Score: 4/10
