Straight out of this year’s Cannes, Lionsgate just picked up the Scottish-set monster flick WILD COUNTRY for distribution, and fans of the monster movie rejoice everywhere!
No word on whether or not it’ll go theatrical, or straight to DVD, but either way, get ready to check this badboy out sometime soon. Not familiar? WILD COUNTRY is about a pregnant teen who gives up her baby for adoption, and goes on a hike with some friends in the Scottish hills. All is fine and dandy until a creature (werewolf, baby!!) decides they look good for dinner- running, chasing and killing ensues. Sounds like fun, no?
The flick stars Samantha Shields, Peter Capaldi and Martin Compston, and was directed by Craig Strachan. Stick around as we hear more out of the Cannes camp, as we may just hear about the when of Lionsgate’s distribution plan.
