Gens for Conan?

Last month Eric told you about how Gerard Butler was rumored to be the man set to star as CONAN THE BARBARIAN, and that John ‘DIE HARD’ McTiernan was set to direct.

Well there’s at least one man who says otherwise on that second bit, and that man is Xavier Gens.

Apparently Mr. Gens told Blog.LeFilmFrancais.com that he’s in the running to direct CONAN. Now I was never a big CONAN fan, I’m still not, so this remake doesn’t strike my fancy in the slightest. But both these directors are ok in my book.

From what I heard, HITMAN was campy action fun and FRONTIER(S) is getting some great, gorey buzz, so I’m really interested in what Gens can do. And DIE HARD is one of my all time favorite movies, so McTiernan is ok in my book.

Who knows though, CONAN isn’t set to come out until 2009, so there’s plenty of time for about thirty more rumors to sprout their ugly heads. As always, we’ll keep you updated.
