Hey remember that new MAD MAX film that was talked about, MAD MAX: FURY ROAD? What is going on? Well delays have slowed it down, but director George Miller expects it will go ahead next year sometime.
While doing press for his latest HAPPY FEET 2, the man answered some questions in regards to the project and where it stands. If you remember a few months back I told you about a major blow to the film with a shooting location having to get scrapped. It has put a dent in the works but George seems optimistic about things …
“Theoretically, it’s next year, we have 150 big vehicles built and so on. We were all geared up for that, we were all set to shoot in the Australian desert and then unprecedented rain came and what was the wasteland — completely flat, red earth — is now a flower garden. The big massive salt flats in the center of Australia where they do record speed trials and stuff is now full of pelicans and fish… We sort of lost the wasteland. You know, John Lennon said, ‘Life is what happens when you’re making other plans’. Films keep on coming out of my head and I never know what film I’m going to make next.”
So there is hope for the project, and perhaps with it possibly shooting next year stars like Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron will be free. The other cast members named for the film include Richard Norton, Zoe Kravitz, Adelaide Clemons (below) and Nicholas Hoult.
