A couple weeks ago news dropped in that George Miller's MAD MAX: FURY ROAD will be released in May of 2015. Well, sir George is opening up a bit on exactly why…

That's right folks. Miller has taken to The Sydney Morning Herald to explain why, despite being finished after an arduous shoot, we have to wait until 2015 to see the sucker. And you know what? The reason is actually pretty promising. Peep it:

“Our film, luckily after a ridiculous amount of work, is testing extremely well…We’re very happy. There has been a lot of doubt about it, [people saying] ‘it took so long’, but Warners have delayed it until 2015 to go into the top weekend of the year.”

Wow, from embattled shoot to testing through the roof and now slated for a mega pre-summer slate? I have to say, I'm a bit shocked. Are you?

Well here's a tidbit not so shocking. When asked about the swirling rumors of original Mad Max, Mel Gibson, making a cameo appearance in FURY ROAD, Miller lamented:

"It would have been nice somehow but, no, it’s not true.”

Oh well, the news can't always be good. Let's just be happy FURY ROAD is finished, testing well, and on its way to theaters eventually!
