Gerald’s Game director wants to tackle Doctor Sleep next

One of the best horror movies of 2017 has been, hands down, director Mike Flanagan's take on Stephen King's GERALD'S GAME. The film made our Top 10 of 2017 and was loved by all of us here at AITH.

It is with this in mind that we are keeping a close eye on director Mike Flanagan. The man has also directed OCULUS, OUIJA: ORIGIN OF EVIL, and HUSH, and has Netflix's THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE coming up next.

But what does he plan to tackle after that? Well, in a recent interview Flanagan was asked which King novel he'd like to take on after his Netflix series, and his answers have us very excited.

Mike Flanagan on DOCTOR SLEEP and LISEY'S STORY:

There are so many. But the ones I'd want to do the most are DOCTOR SLEEP and LISEY'S STORY. In both cases, it's because I identify with the protagonists so much. LISEY'S STORY is a stunning piece of work, a beautiful exploration of marriage. And who wouldn't want to venture back into the world of Danny Torrence?

Let's hope one, or hell, both of these adaptations come to fruition as Flanagan could become the new Frank Darabont and keep giving us quality King adaptations one after the other. Sounds good to me.

Which King novel would you rather see Flanagan take on next, Doctor Sleep or Lisey's Story? Make sure to hit us up and let us know in the new comments section below or on social media.

GERALD'S GAME synopsis:

The film is directed by Mike Flanagan from a script Flanagan wrote with Jeff Howard, based on the novel by Stephen King. The film stars Carla Gugino, Bruce Greenwood, and Henry Thomas.

GERALD'S GAME is currently streaming on Netflix.
