GET DUKED! picked up the Midnighters Audience at SXSW 2019 (under its original title BOYZ IN THE WOOD) and its brand of dark comedy and satire really resonated with those that watched it. During these times we need some good and silly laughs and Scottish filmmaker Ninian Doff gives us just that. Want a good laugh? In the film, while deep in the Scottish Highlands on a camping trip competition, four city boys try to escape a mysterious huntsman while the police trail behind, failing to provide assistance. The film stars Eddie Izzard, Viraj Juneja, Lewis Gribben, Samuel Bottomley, Rian Gordon, Kate Dickie, James Cosmo, Kevin Guthrie, Jonathan Aris, Alice Lowe, and Georgie Glen.
After premiering first at the opening Midnight Movie at the 2019 South by Southwest Film Festival, the film went on to open the Edinburgh International Film Festival and also screened at the Vancouver International Film Festival and the International Film Festival Rotterdam. Amazon Studios acquired the film back in December of 2019 and it was officially released on Prime Video on August 28, 2020. If you're feeling on the fence, the film received a stellar 88% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes so if you're looking for something fun to watch, this might be right up your alley.
