Production is currently underway on director Roland “I-love-to-destory-the-world” Emmerich’s latest opus, WHITE HOUSE DOWN and Entertainment Tonight got a peek at some of the behind-the-scenes action.  Starring Channing Tatum as a secret service agent and Jamie Foxx as The President, the film is a new take on the old DIE HARD formula, with the villains being a paramilitary group.  This is not to be confused with the competing project, OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN, which features Gerard Butler in the Channing Tatum Role and Aaron Eckhart as The President with Antoine Fuqua (TRAINING DAY) at the helm.

Confused yet?

Check out Magic Mike and Motherf*cker Jones rocking the White House:

These competing projects always baffle me.  So, really, they just happen, eh?  Two asteroid-heading-to-Earth movies, two Wyatt Earp movies, two Die Hard in the White House movies, they just happened to fall in line at the exact same time?  Throws me for a loop every time.  Strangely, both WHITE HOUSE DOWN and OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN have a good line-up of talent, so I’m kind of intrigued by both projects.

WHITE HOUSE DOWN starring Channing Tatum, Jamie Foxx, Richard Jenkins, James Woods, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Joey King, Jason Clarke, and Garcelle Beauvais is slated for release on June 28, 2013.
