Despite the fake crisis surrounding dismal box office (cuz boy didn’t we all expect that 3 hour exploitation movie to have made 250 mil at this point??), we are still hearing a constant stream of chatter regarding a potential sequel.
We already know that is likely to happen, but what we had heard thus far has been that it would be a stand-alone flick… Well the Babysitter Twins have something else to say!
You’ll recall that The Babysitter Twins (Electra and Elise Avellan – Robert Rodriguez’s nieces, which is slightly creepy) played, well, babysitting twins in PLANET TERROR. Apparently Uncle Bob was so thrilled with how they looked in their skimpy outfits (shudder) that he aims to give them their own flick.
THE BLACK WATERS OF ECHO POND, and they explained what GRINDHOUSE 2 would be about:
“Robert mentioned something about the end of the world and Hollywood action films, where we’d be trained in Mexico to come back here and fight,” Electra states. Elise then elaborates, “Hollywood starts fucking with us so we start killing… we [would] kill Harvey Weinstein in the movie, although that’s just talk now right.”
Ah, but what fascinating talk it is. If true, it just seems like this baffling fascination with vintage cheeseball movies will never end for Rodriguez (not to mention his pal QT). For cryin’ out loud, the guy’s doing right now!
