Ghost in the Shell characters are packing heat in new motion posters

I don't know much about the GHOST IN THE SHELL manga or anime, but I do know that I wouldn't want to mess with its characters. A batch of motion posters that offer a look at some of the characters as they'll appear in director Rupert Sanders' upcoming live action adaptation of the story have been released online, and almost every one of them is toting firepower, clearly ready to start blasting. Only a couple of them aren't showing off their weapons in their poster, one of the unarmed characters being Scarlett Johannson's Major. Don't let this poster deceive you, Major has guns of her own. Just look at the image above for proof. There she is, holding a gun and being all intense.

Who is Major anyway? She is

a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic’s advancements in cyber technology.

Jonathan Herman and Jamie Moss wrote the screenplay for this version of GHOST IN THE SHELL.

Johnansson, Pilou Asbæk, Takeshi Kitano, Lasarus Ratuere, Tawanda Manyimo, Yutaka Izumihara, Danusia Samal, and Chin Han have been given their own character posters. Cast members not featured below include Rila Fukushima, Michael Pitt, Michael Wincott, Juliette Binoche, and Kaori Momoi.

The film is set to reach theatres on March 31st.
