Ghosts! Aliens!

The Hollywood Reporter tells us of a potentially cool “hybrid” project called GHOSTS/ALIENS based on the novel by Trey Hamburger. Paramount Vantage bought the book, which was released last November. It has a synopsis many of us can probably relate to: Two pothead friends set out on a quest to discover both ghosts and aliens.

Who of us hasn’t gotten stoned, pondered the afterlife and all its mysteries, steeled ourselves for a ghost-hunt, only to chicken out three steps into the journey, mostly due to crippling paranoia and an insatiable hunger for Doritos? That’s right, it’s happened to each and every one of us…

What makes this a “hybrid project” is that Comedy Central will simultaneously be prepping GHOSTS/ALIENS as a television show (Paramount and Comedy Central are both owned by Viacom). No details on how this will work. Someone named Phil Johnson is writing the screenplay for the film, and one of the producers of TEAM AMERICA: WORLD POLICE is on board.

Are we looking at PINEAPPLE EXPRESS meets “GHOST HUNTERS” here?

Kristen Stewart enjoys the ganja…
