It is unclear if the flick will keep the three wishes gambit that Jacobs established, or if this will be an unlimited wishes kind of deal. Either way, what strikes me as interesting is that the project is described as a spooky family pitch. The original tale is really quite dark and gruesome (check it out here if you’ve never read it), so I’m a little puzzled what their intentions are with the project.
Nevertheless, it’ll be interesting to see what they do with such an iconic tale.
