IMDB and yours truly have uncovered one of the final pieces of the GIALLO casting puzzle: the damsel in distress. Elsa Pataky, who played a hot mom in SNAKES ON A PLANE, will play Asia Argento’s imperilled sister in the Dario Argento-directed thriller.
Screenwriter Sean Keller actually revealed this news to me a few days ago and I let it slip under the radar (curse me out if you must). I’m still prepping his extensive interview for the site – it should hit in a day or two – and it was lost in the shuffle.
Here’s the plot, directly from the scribe:
The picture stars Vincent Gallo in the lead role of a serial killer, with Ray Liotta playing the detective who has long been tracking him. The plot revolves around the snatching of a fashion model (Elsa Pataky) just as her flight attendant sister (Asia Argento) jets to Milan to meet her on a shoot.
I’m glad he describes the serial killer as being “the lead role.” Keller finally added: The cast will be rounded out with a cameo by an internationally renowned fashion designer.
I know you horror geeks are psyched about that last part! GIALLO is currently underway in Turin, and expect the Keller interview very soon.
