Glee’s Dianna Agron joining sci-fi flick I Am Number Four

D.J. Caruso’s I AM NUMBER FOUR is gearing up to be a pretty big thing isn’t it? It’s already got some big names behind it and has recently been building quite the cast. Not only do we have rising young stars like Teresa Palmer and Alex Pettyfer but we also have Sharlto Copley, who gave a break-out performance in 2009’s DISTRICT 9. Not to shabby right?

Well according to The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog, another rising young star has joined the project: Dianna Agron! Agron (pictured) can most recently be seen in the successful television show “Glee.” What is “Glee” and why is it so damn successful? I honestly have no idea. But Agron is smoking hot and I AM NUMBER FOUR is sounding pretty awesome so we’re going to chalk this one up as good news!

Agron has secured the female lead, which would be the human love interest of Pettyfer’s titular character. Copley will star as ‘Number Four’s’ mentor with Palmer signed on as ‘Number Six.’ I AM NUMBER FOUR is based on the novel by James Frey and Jobie Hughes.

Nine alien teens come to Earth after their planet is destroyed by an enemy species but soon discover that their enemy is now after them on Earth.

Sounds simple enough. I’m going to be honest here… this one sounds like it’s going to be a watered down teen flick that all the high schoolers can go see on a Friday night… but I’m going to hold out some hope that’s not the case. Who knows, maybe I AM NUMBER FOUR will be more like DISTRICT 9 rather than TWILIGHT… Maybe…?

We can hope right? Principal photography on I AM NUMBER FOUR is set to start next month in Pittsburgh so be sure to keep it here for more on the project as we hear it!
