Talk about an impressive pedigree! If you’re looking for the next big thing, you could definitely do worse than taking a gamble on someone who has worked with, and studied under, Pedro Almodovar and Guillermo del Toro.
Such is the path Gold Circle Films has stepped on by handing the reins of the new horror flick SMOKE to newcomer Victor Garcia. Garcia caught industry eyes with his short flick EL CICLO (check out the pics). Here’s hoping he turns promise into…uh….gold.
The story goes like this: A young woman who, while on the run from an abusive husband, is haunted by premonitions as she hides in a motel.
Simple set up, but its certainly got all the elements you need for one humdinger of a scare fest. Or maybe just a nice subtle creep factor throughout. Either way, I’ll be keeping an eye on this one.
BTW, let’s give it up to Gold Circle Films for going out of their way to be a genre friendly production company. Keep it up guys!
